The short answer: yes, SHEIN's Free Trial is real and it's run by SHEIN itself. Selected members get the item and the shipping covered; their part is an honest review. The catch is that the applications are weekly, capped at 3 per member, and hidden inside a menu most people never open. Below: who gets selected and how to apply this week.

Want to see where SHEIN members apply for Free Trial items?

Every week SHEIN selects a limited number of applicants. For them, the item and the shipping cost nothing.

Time left this week: —

The Free Trial list is renewed weekly. You can apply for up to 3 items per week; applications you don't use this week are not carried into the next one.

Free only for the members SHEIN selects: no charge for the product or the shipping. Selected members post a review with photos within 10 days. Import duties, where they apply, are the participant's. Applications are made inside your SHEIN account only. comparingcities.com is an independent publisher, not affiliated with SHEIN; SHEIN alone selects, and selection is never guaranteed.

First, what the Free Trial is not

It is not a giveaway with a winner drawn from a hat, and it is not an influencer deal. It is a product-testing program that SHEIN runs for regular members: you apply to items you'd like to test, SHEIN picks some applicants, and the people picked get the item shipped at SHEIN's expense. In exchange they write a review with photos. There is no form outside SHEIN's app or website, and nothing to pay at any point.

Because the list changes every week, the only decision that is really yours is whether this week's applications go in before the week ends.

Who actually gets selected

SHEIN says its selection looks at how active a member is on the platform and at the reviews that member has already published. The number of people selected per week is limited, and the choice is SHEIN's alone. Three consequences follow:

  • A brand-new account is eligible immediately. You don't need a purchase history, a membership tier or a certain number of orders before applying.
  • Your first application is where your history begins. Each application and each completed review becomes part of what SHEIN looks at the next time.
  • No one can improve your odds for a fee. If a page or a message asks for a payment or card details "to secure your spot," it has nothing to do with the program.

The weekly cycle, explained

  1. A new list appears in the Free Trial Center, inside the SHEIN app and website.
  2. Members apply for up to 3 items. The application shows as "Pending" in the same menu.
  3. SHEIN publishes the result on the second Tuesday after the application, in the Free Trial Center and by email. Selected members' orders ship automatically.
  4. Selected members post a review within 10 days of delivery: 1 full-body photo plus 2 detail photos, and a short text. The item stays with them.
  5. Not selected? Nothing to do. The next week brings a new list and 3 new applications.

Rules worth knowing before step 2

  • One account per person. SHEIN removes members who run several accounts to collect more items.
  • Address and site must match. A US address goes with the US SHEIN site; the Free Trial follows the same rule.
  • Adults only. You need to be 18 or older.
  • Duties. SHEIN covers the item and the shipping for selected members; import duties, where a country charges them, are the member's.

Questions people ask us

Do I need followers or a social media account?

No. The review is posted inside SHEIN, on the product page. Followers, likes or an Instagram account are not part of the program.

How long until I know if I was selected?

SHEIN publishes the result on the second Tuesday after you apply, in the Free Trial Center. Selected members also get an email and a push notification.

Does comparingcities.com select anyone?

No. We are an independent publisher. We explain the program; we don't run it, don't select participants and don't ship products. Applications are made only inside SHEIN's official app or website, and SHEIN alone decides who is selected.
